Across the pond (and beyond)
With U.S. hubs in Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., United Airlines operates the most comprehensive global route network among North American carriers and is now the largest airline in the world as measured by available seat miles.
United has a proud history in the Netherlands stretching back over 30 years, with the airline’s first service operating between Amsterdam and London Heathrow in 1991 and transatlantic service to Washington Dulles starting in 1993. Today, United operates daily services from Amsterdam year-round to its hubs at New York/Newark, Washington Dulles, Chicago O’Hare and Houston, as well as summer seasonal service to San Francisco, with onward connections to hundreds of destinations across the Americas.
United App
The United mobile app becomes a traveler’s personal concierge without waiting in line at the airport or calling the customer contact center. It has been redesigned to make it easier to use for people with visual or cognitive disabilities, together with the launch of new features allowing personalized re-booking options, bag tracking information and meal and hotel vouchers when eligible if customers’ flights are delayed or cancelled. In addition, customers have access to flight details, mobile boarding pass, dynamic boarding times and the onboard entertainment menu on the app. Click here for more information and to download the United app.
Moreover, United is the first and only U.S. airline to support Live Activities for iPhone, giving customers real-time access to their boarding pass, gate and seat number, and countdown clock to departure time on their Lock Screen or while unlocked in the Dynamic Island, all without opening the United app. United has also launched the ability for Android users to see real-time flight information on their lock screens, which is also a first of its kind feature.
Travel Experience
No matter your journey, it’s important to know what to expect throughout your trip and to feel confident in your selections. United is committed through a series of innovations and improvements designed to help build a great experience. After all, the flight is at least as important as the destination you travel to:
- United PolarisSM business class: The company introduced the largest upgrade to its United PolarisSM international business class experience in seven years, featuring new in-airport and onboard amenities from Therabody® and Saks Fifth Avenue that are designed to give customers “the best sleep in the sky” and prioritising relaxation and comfort, offering quality inflight dining including an award-winning range of wines and champagnes and full flat-bed seats. Travelers on international widebodies with Polaris cabin can now choose their meal starting five days before their departure and up to 24 hours before their flight. If you forget to choose a meal ahead of time, don’t worry – we’ll still have a meal for you on board.
- United Premium PlusSM features a spacious seat with more legroom, elbow room and recline than a standard Economy Plus or economy seat, offering quality inflight dining, individual power outlets and USB chargers, seatback entertainment with noise-reducing headphones and Saks Fifth Avenue luxury bedding.
- United Economy PlusSM offers all benefits of Economy with added legroom and increased personal space. Located near the front of the economy cabin, it allows a swifter exit from the plane on arrival. Economy Plus seating is available on all transatlantic flights.
- United EconomySM offers complimentary food, soft drinks, juices, beer and wine, tea, coffee and inflight entertainment. On most aircraft, seats feature an adjustable headrest and a personal on-demand entertainment system.
